Land Surveying

Farland Corp offers a wide range of surveying services.  Our experience allows us to provide each client with the best combination of methods and equipment to meet project goals and client expectations.  Our crews are cross-trained in all aspects of surveying, including fieldwork, research, drafting, and description writing, so that they can give a “Big Picture” approach to every project.

We utilize state of the art survey instrumentation, including GPS, robotic, and prismless total stations.  The GPS equipment is useful on large / remote projects and in areas where there is little tree cover.  Our GPS instrument ranges in accuracy from sub-meter to sub-centimeter; being considerably more accurate than the typical hand-held devices that many people carry for recreational use.  The type and purpose of the application determine if GPS equipment is appropriate. Conventional total station equipment remains our most accurate means of surveying, so for boundary surveys, construction staking, and any other application where accuracy is of the utmost importance, conventional means are utilized.  For open and unobstructed sites, particularly construction sites, robotic instrumentation allows one person to do the work of a two-person crew resulting in savings to our clientele.
