Leadership Starts Early
The late-February snowstorm that moved through SouthCoast Massachusetts on February 23, 2026 brought heavy snowfall, strong winds, and the kind of conditions that bring daily routines to a halt. Roads were buried, travel slowed, and communities from New Bedford to Dartmouth shifted into winter response mode.
At home, winter operations were already underway.
Serena Farland took to the driveway with shovel in hand, determined to do her part. While small in stature, the effort reflected something much bigger: a willingness to step up, take responsibility, and see a job through to completion.
At Farland Corp, those principles are not seasonal. Preparation, accountability, and pride in the work apply whether the team is managing engineering plans, coordinating site construction, or clearing snow after a winter storm.
Character is built through example. It develops in everyday moments, long before titles or roles are earned. Leadership is less about position and more about mindset.
Winter will pass. The lessons remain.
